Marine Engine Gas-Injection Fuel Gas Supply
The FGS process comprises a suction drum, high pressure pumps, high pressure vaporizer, glycol water heating system, high/low pressure piping and valves, etc.
LNG is stored in the LNG tank at a pressure between 2.5 bar g ~ 8 bar g and fed to the suction drum. The LNG tank pressure should be higher than suction drum pressure. From the suction drum the liquid pressure is increased through pumping by the high pressure pump to the HP vaporizer. Vaporization is achieved by passing the liquid through the shell and tube vaporizers. LNG flow the tube side in vaporizer and heated glycol water flow the shell side. After vaporization, gas then being sent to the MEGI Engine for fuel supply.
MEGI FGS system is divided two section of Skid. FGS skid comprises a suction drum, high pressure pumps, a high pressure vaporizer in hazardous area. GW skid comprises a GW tank, GW feed pump, GW electric heater in non-hazardous area.
The suction drum is a buffer tank for stable operation. The high pressure pumps increase the pressure of the LNG from the suction drum to the HP vaporizer, to a pressure in excess of 150~300 bar g. The HP vaporizer increases the temperature of the high pressure LNG to the design temperature 45 oC.
