What we build
Four fields, one discipline. JangWon SM designs and delivers systems for ships and steel plants, places experienced Korean engineers on clients’ sites, and acts as the Korean agent for selected overseas manufacturers.

Marine Engineering
Cargo handling and reliquefaction engineering for LNG and LPG carriers, cargo tank VOC reduction, ME-GI fuel gas supply and clutch control panels. Most of this work was carried out with DSME. DE-VOC systems were installed on nine commercial tankers between 2013 and 2019, including the first application on VLCCs, after a demonstration installation on one crude oil tanker completed in 2011.

Bulk cargo recovery equipment for belt conveyors and camera vision systems for hot strip mills, delivered to the POSCO works at Pohang and Gwangyang since 2001. Four Korean patents, registered between 2007 and 2011, cover the bulk cargo recovery and conveyor belt cleaning equipment.

Experienced Korean shipyard engineers working on the client’s site. A three-year shipyard competency and technology transfer contract for Nakilat-Keppel Offshore & Marine in Qatar ran from April 2012 to March 2015.

Korean sales agent for Shaangu Power Group since 2007 and for Suzhou Sincoo Metal since 2021. Top recovery turbines for Hyundai Steel blast furnaces, pipes and tubes for Korean customers, and brokerage of POSCO heavy plate to a shipyard in Qatar.

Flagship · DE-VOC System
First to recover cargo-tank VOC on a VLCC.
During crude-oil loading a tanker releases large volumes of volatile organic compounds. The DE-VOC cargo tank VOC reduction system, developed with DSME and used under license, recovers that vapor. In 2013–2014 it became the first such system fitted to VLCCs — on four 317,000 DWT crude oil tankers for the Kuwait Oil Tanker Company.
